Experience
Dan has an extensive background in Medicare payment policy, healthcare payment reform, and value-based contracting. He has experience designing, implementing, and evaluating alternative payment models, with a focus on payment methodologies and risk adjustment. Dan's experience includes nearly 10 years at CMS. Most recently, he led evaluations and intramural research for the CMS Innovation Center, to determine the effect of each Innovation Center model on healthcare spending and outcomes. Before that, he led the Innovation Center's data analytics team, providing structured analytics to support model methodology development, strategic planning, and reporting. He began at CMS embedded in the teams designing and implementing episode-based payment models (e.g., BPCI, CJR, and OCM)
